Covid-19 Updates

The latest from UNC Greensboro

Dear UNCG Community,

The COVID-19 pandemic has clearly and substantially altered the environment for all 20,000 UNCG students and in fact for more than 200,000 students across the UNC System. We recognize the difficulties that have been created as students have moved out of residence halls, lost access to dining, and dealt with a wide range of individually unique challenges.

We know that the financial implications of these changes are significant to many of our students and families. So, today UNCG and all 17 UNC System institutions are announcing that students will receive prorated refunds for housing costs and dining plans for which payment has already been received. Refunds will be calculated based on when students without exceptions were required to vacate campus.

There is a great deal more detailed work to be done, but we wanted to share this information with you as quickly as possible. Over the next few days, UNCG administrators and UNC System leadership will be coordinating the timing and exact implementation of this decision. We will move as quickly as possible on this process as we work to provide support and relief to our Spartan students and families. More detail regarding the refund schedule will be shared as soon as possible.
