The latest from UNC Greensboro

UNCG Campus Community,

Given the pace of change and frequency of communications over the past week, we want to ensure our team understands where we are today in terms of implementation of recent policy and operational decisions. Our focus today is primarily on three areas of our operations:

  1. Working with our students and families to meet our Friday 5 p.m. deadline to move as many students as possible off campus and effectively support those who secure an exception and remain.
  2. Focusing on faculty activity and support needs to transition more than 400 classes to online learning environments beginning Monday.
  3. Managing facilities, HR, and operational needs associated with our transition to extremely limited operations for the duration of the public health mandates that are now in place.

Based on the new restrictions and operational directives announced on March 17, as well as state guidance to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, there are revisions to our hours of service and availability of facilities for Saturday, March 21-Tuesday, March 31. These revisions include:

Dining hours:

  • Fountain View Dining:
    • All items will be pre-packaged and will be set up at Street Eats upstairs Fountain View. These items are also available for purchase by mandatory staff for $5
    • A weekly menu will be available on the Spartan Dining webpage.
    • 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Lunch Pickup
    • 4:30 p.m.-6 p.m. Dinner & Next-day Breakfast Pickup
    • Consistent with state mandates covering all restaurants, there will be takeout meals only (No dine in).
  • Spartan Market:
    • 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
    • Spartan Combos To-Go will be available.

Transportation hours: 

  • Campus Loop:
    • 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
    • 4 p.m.-6:30 p.m

Postal Services hours M-F:

  • Student Mail and Package Pickup/Dropoff at Business Center
    • 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
  • Campus Mail and Package Pickup/Dropoff at 525 Tate Street
    • 12-3 p.m.
    • Offices and departments who receive packages will be called to inform them they should be picked up.

ID Center hours M-F:

  • 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Parking for March 21-31

  • Park and Ride will be closed. Holders of E/WE/KE/ME permits may park in C Commuter lots
  • EB Permit holders may park in B spaces.
  • Parking decks are available for free.

Library Hours:

  • Jackson Library: Open M-F 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (ID card required)
  • Music Library: Closed.
  • Book drops opened and collected.
  • Various virtual services opened as listed on the website.
  • Virtual chat directly with a librarian to answer questions or find an expert: 1-5 p.m. Saturday and 1-7 p.m. Sunday
  • Jackson Library Superlab: Closed

Additionally (Until further notice):

  • The Weatherspoon Art Museum: Closed  
  • Campus Bookstore: Closed
  • EUC Building: Closed

Building Access Reminder

  • Beginning on the evening of Friday, March 20, buildings will be secured as they are during a standard University break. Employees will be required to use ID cards and/or keys to access their buildings and offices. 
  • If you will need to access your building after Friday, please make sure that your Spartan Card is set up to allow access.
    • If you believe your Spartan Card should give you access but does not, please email fowork@uncg.edu or call 336-334-5684.
    • If you have never requested that your card be set up to allow you access, please visit this website and complete the request form. Your supervisor will need to authorize the request.
    • Please do not call the UNCG Police Department to get building access. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your supervisor or department head/chair.
